Sanctuary on the Journey
Sanctuary on the Journey by @lynne (Lynne)

The third picture in my trip-back-east series. I drew this on a whim, after I had come to the Community of St. John Baptist, because it was such a haven, a sanctuary, and I didn't have all the outside pressures that broke me to pieces. So I could focus and think on the important things, like God, and what I needed to do. So I drew this, and only afterwards did I start comparing my life to Lord of the Rings. I thought of CSJB as Rivendell for my Frodo Ringbearer journey. One of the sisters told me.. and I have had others say the same.. namely my aunt.. that I have this great burden that I am carrying in life, and even I am not entirely sure what it is, only that it makes things very difficult. When I think about this, though, I feel that I, like Frodo, voluntarily (if perhaps before I was born into this life) took up this burden for the good of all the world.
