Ode to Derrell
Ode to Derrell by @fall_from_grace (Chrstine McCarthy-Kamoss)

This is a piece that I've been working on ever since September 2nd, 2003; which was a day that shall stand out in my mind for some time to come. That was the day I first found out of my friend, Derrell's death. He hung himself at a mental health treatment center called Circle of Life. At his furneral, the following saturday, I saw his ashes on a table covered by a red cloth. Thus I drew Washu, the character I assoshate with myself, kneeling at the foot of this table. It is my way of paying my last respects to Derrell since his furneral was currupted by the church.
