Just a bit o'lineart I did the other day...I was experimenting with various line thicknesses, and I quite like the way it came out. I've been getting back into the anime thing lately, and it came back easier than I thought it would. what do I like about this? Her hand. What do I NOT like? The fact that she almost looks like a guy, and I totally hadn't intended that. If I HAD, I would have just made it a guy, but noooooo....

So anyway...planning on computer coloring this eventually, once I get some spare time. The finished, colored version will be on sale at Tekkoshocon 2005!

This is The Fool, the first in a series of gothic tarot cards my friend and I are designing. The only other one I've done so far is The High PRiestess, but she's not colored yet so it'll be a while before she's on here.

I've always liked the idea of a gothic jester anyway, dunno why I've never tried it. I really like the monochromatic color scheme, planning on sticking to that for the rest of the tarot cards. the High PRiestess will utilize violet instead of red. Red, black, and white are my favorite colors, so there's another reason I like the color scheme ^_^ Expect to see it more in the future. This was done in marker and Micron pen.

Obviously inspired by the Shakespeare play. She's not any particular character...when I drew this, I pictured a young man wandering away from a party and coming across a beautiful faery woman in the forest. She runs off, and he chases her deeper and deeper into the forest. Eventually, exhausted, he falls asleep beneath a tree. WHen he wakes in the morning, he wonders if the beautiful woman he encountered was real, or only a dream brought on by the midsummer heat. Done in mechanical pencil. I had meant to draw some trees and whatnot behind her, but like I mentioned I'm bad at drawing trees >.<

So, this is a sketch that I made in my math notebook during Public Speaking one day...and I really like it. I made a much, much larger (like, we're talking life-size) piece based on this sketch in art class, which is not yet finished....but I want to do a better drawing version of this, too. I'm just scared I'll screw up on the final, so I"m uploading the sketch 'cause I think it rocks pretty hard. Inspired by the artwork of Ursula Vernon.

*note: the wings aren't transparent, they're actually painted on the wall*

Just one in a series of Halloween pics I"m doing to celebrate my favorite holiday ^_^ There are currently two more Halloween pictures in the works, but they're only in the lineart stage. i haven't had much time to work on them lately ;_;

This pic is much larger than my normal drawing size...so large I had to scan it in two halves and paste it together in photostudio, which is why it doesn' tquite match up on the one side. I broke out my Prismacolor markers again for this one, and used Prismacolor pastels to add highlights and make things glowy. I'm used to mediums that blend better than the markers do, but pastels don't give solid colors as well, so I decided to try them in unison. And...voila! I really like the glowy effect I got around the moon, though the moon has craters and stuft on it that didn't show up in the scan >.< Things I dont like: Her face. Don't know why. I just dont' like it.

Inspired by Dan Brereton's Nocturnals. ^_^

I'm not sure quite what she is, some sort of dark elf I suppose. Lately I've been doing a lot of darker art, so this picture marks the beginning of a trend I think you'll see continuing. I did it in about an hour, so it probably could have come out a lot nicer than it did...but I'm relatively happy with it. I really just wanted a chance to paint some celtic tattoos. Watercolor.

I don't know what possessed me to draw an elf wrapped in caution tape...but it definitely reflects the way I was feeling at the time. It got cut off in the scan...but there's script at the botton that says 'loneliness' SO perhaps the caution tape means 'stay back-dangerous emotional zone ahead' And making her an elf...perhaps there's a lot more of myself in this than I realized. this is also much larger than I'm used to working with, too...this paper is 17x22, I think, and I'm only used to 8.5x11. Plus, it's a profile, which we all know is always hard...so yeah, I'm rather proud of it. The only thing I don't like is that the pencil smeared because I didn't spray it...but c'est le vie, I guess. Enjoy.

This little faery sits atop a pedestal, where he can feel the cool breeze as the leaves swirl around her. Watercolor and pearlescent ink, which once again didn't show up in the scan. Inspired by the work of the wonderful Amy Brown

Meet Blaize, prince of a tribe of Elven warriors, so-called because of his fiery red hair and golden eyes. The tattoo on his shoulder is a tribal marking, and the three stripes on his cheek indicate a high rank, much like stripes on American army uniforms. Done in watercolor, like most of my newer stuff, and based on a sketch that I did in about five minutes in Spanish class. What's surprising about this picture is that normally I can't draw guys OR profiles, yet this is both and it turned out much better than expected.

'Lara clung to the fence that separated her from the human world, watching the sun set behind the city silhouetted in the distance. The red sky slowly deepened to purple, making the black spires of the buildings look like paper cutouts pasted onto a watercolor painting. For the people in that city, going home to warm dinners in their expensive cars, they day was drawing to a close. But the night was Lara's glory, and her day was just dawning.' This is Lara, once again. My very first attempt at computer coloring! Let me tell you, people who say computer art isn't 'real' art because it's artificial or too easy to do....it is not in the least easy. This took me several hours, laboring away with my mouse in Photostudio (I have neither a wacom tablet or Photoshop, I have only an eight-year old mouse that sticks and a program with limited options). Still< I think this turned out fairly well. The background looks rather fake, but I did that in a bit of a hurry because I just wanted to be DONE. I had to mask off each area of this picture separately in order to paint it-including the irises of the eyes, and the lips, and EVERY FREAKING LINK in that fence had to be masked off so I could put in the background. I drew this first in Micron pen, then scanned it and colored it. Anyway, I hope my labors paid off. Enjoy!

I don't know who she is or where she came from...I just drew her one day during lunch, and there's something in her huge, innocent eyes that I really like. For some reason I gave her a large number of piercings *shrug* This is my second attempt at coloring on the computer. IT's very, very difficult, because I dont have a wacom tablet or Photoshop, just an eight-year-old mouse that sticks and Photostudio, which has very limited options in regerds to coloring. IT's mostly for photo touch-ups and effects. So it took me a very long time and a lot of work, using only the airbrush tool, filler bucket, and smudge tool, but here's the finished product. I dont' think I shaded her skin as well as I would ahve liked, and my attempt and blue lighting came out kinda funny, but I do like her eyes, the color and the life they have to them. I had intended her wings to be black, but they came out as kind of a smoky grey, which I think I like better. I wrote a poem that goes along with her...but I think I lost it. If I ever find it, I'll put it up here. For now, enjoy.

This is Norman, froma series of five ceramic gargolyes I made at Governor's School this summer. I'm quite proud of them, since I've never done ceramics before. He's made of grey stoneware clay, with black and rutile stains sponged on to make him look like stone. he's about 11" long and about 4" high, including the horns ^_^

the second of my seasons, Summer. I realize she and Spring look very similar, but I didn't really intend them to be the same person ;p I just thought they should both be blonde, and that's how they came out. it's hard to distinguish between the seasons, too...in Summer, there are more flowers, though. Generally I just like the image, even if it's not a fantastic representation of the season.

Well, here's Gojyo. Remind me NEVER to do a pen sketch, ever again. It takes WAY too long. Plus, I usually like my shading to be smoother...but I was in Physics and all I had was a pen. I did the layout for this in pencil, then went back in with the ink. Took me all of physics, all of Spanish, and part of band to complete. The title is an inside joke, only about four people in the world will understand. ;p Enjoy! Please note: I can't reply to or grade comments because my computer SUCKS. Sorry!

Hey, lookie! More ancient fanart! I originally drew this to give to my friend with a Rayearth obsession, but then I...well I just didn't. Those little circly things took me forever, because I drew them all by hand without a compass or anything. But it looks pretty cool, ne? I HATE NOVA'S FEET! WHY THE HECK ARE THEY SO...POINTY?
