And, just for fun, here's a couple of totally irrelevant productione extras from The Great Randomcritter Zero Wing Reenactment. I think they're pretty self explanitory, but just in case... the top one was a paint bucket accident that I thought looked cool, and the bottom was sheer boredom.

Yay!

Just in case anyone's interested, here's some things I saved from when I was working on the Great Randomcritter Zero Wing Reenactment. In order as one reads a book, the pictures are:

Rough sketch of ZIG-01.

Early colored version of ZIG-01 without the ship's canopy over him. I was experimenting with how to make the green visor look translucent, and I ended up averaging the colors' numbers in Paint to come up with something right between, say, the green of the visor and whatever color his face was. I accidentally saved over the original colored picture.

Random thingy from when I was coloring Operator. It's not relevant, I just like it because it kind of looks like a dragon.

The background from ZIG-01's picture.

The next three show Operator's evolution; rough sketch, sketch with headgear, and final colored version. Note how he lost his beard and how his eye changed position.

The mothership at full size. To put it in the space scenes, I shrunk it with MS Word and stuck it back into the space background.

The final three are the different versions of Captain's mark of rank. As the arrow helpfully points out, the first one is the final version. There was a version of it with no lines through it, but I lost it.

Hooray for Zero Wing.

I recently got the album Dawn of Victory, by the band Rhapsody. It rocks. I really enjoy all the songs on the album, and one of them inspired me to mess around with the Zide 7 Oekaki and create this image, based on the chorus from "The Last Winged Unicorn".

From the holy sea of golden flames
flies the last winged unicorn
With its magic breath of innocence
rising to the crystal throne

Yeah, I'm not sure if it's literally a winged unicorn they're singing about, but whatever. I'd still like to thank Rhapsody profusely for not saying 'pegucorn'.

The song "The Last Winged Unicorn" is all Rhapsody's. This image is fanart by Sparky the Seventh Chaos.

"Captain: Take off every 'Zig'!

Captain: You know what you doing.

Captain: Move 'Zig'.

Captain: For great justice."

This is the final part of a reenactment of Zero Wing, starring the Randomcritters.

I guess I should explain myself here, since this is the last part of my GRCZWRE. Well... the long and short of it is, I'm an Engrish fan, so of course I'd eventually catch wind of that Internet fad that involved Zero Wing, a poorly translated Sega Megadrive game created by the now-defunct company Toaplan. This fad involved putting phrases from the game – mostly the now-immortal proclamation "All your base are belong to us" – on random images, such as buildings, signs, and even simple buildings. The band The Laziest Men on Mars wrote a song called "Invasion of the Gabber Robots" that included music and quotes from the game, and then a guy with the handle Bad_CRC made a music video of "Invasion of the Gabber Robots" with a bunch of the doctored images. After that, the fad spread like wildfire for a while, but now it's gone back to being more or less a silly Internet in-joke. I was inspired, and decided to make my tiny and humble contribution to the legend that is All Your Base Are Belong To Us, thus taking on my greatest MS Paint project yet.

Or, maybe I'm just an insane little dragoness with too much time on her hands.

At any rate, here it be. It's taken me several months of on and off work to get this madness done. So, here they are... a select few Randomcritters representing the characters Captain, Mechanic, Operator, ZIG-01, and, of course, CATS.

My mind is a scary place to live sometimes. It really is.

Made this on the oekaki, having waaaay too much fun with the Paint BBS' Watercolor tool.

The title doesn't make much sense on its own, and so here is the story of Emag Tresni as I remember it from The Ultimate History of Video Games:

There was once a video game company that was trying to make a handheld system to compete with Nintendo's Game Boy. During the prototype phases, they were testing a message that would come up if a player tried to turn the console on with no game in it. The message was, simply, "Insert Game."
Someone put a 1 where a 0 should have been, or a 0 where a 1 should have been, and the message came out backwards as "Emag Tresni."
Emag Tresni became something of an inside joke at the game company; it came to encompass the concept of 'if something can possibly go wrong, it will.'

I adopted this in-joke and created a demon to represent it. Demons for abstract concepts are fun to create. Then you can imagine yourself whacking the demon with something when the concept rears its ugly head. >: )p ^_^

A comic thing I made for my German class. It was based on one of the exceedingly goofy stories we tell each other to learn the language. In this case, we drew mini-stories based on the main story about a missing book out of a hat, then made comics of them. A panel-by-panel translation into English follows:

Panel one
This is Susanne.
Susanne: Where is my book?
(The "#10" was which prompt I had)
--------------
Panel two
Susanne: My book!
(The book says "Book!")
--------------
Panel three
Susanne: ...this is not my book.
--------------
Panel four
Susanne: I eat it!
--------------
Panel five
Susanne: Where is MY book?!
("Geht, geht" is literally translated as "go, go;" depending on context, it can mean things like "walk, walk")
--------------
Panel six
(The book says "Cow!")
--------------
Panel seven
Susanne: Is this my book?
--------------
Panel eight
Random Cow: No. This is my book!
--------------
Panel nine
Random Cow: Goodbye!
(I misspelled "Wiedersehen." Auf Wiedersehen is literally "On see again" -until we see each other again.)
--------------
Panels ten and eleven
(The book says "Monkey!")
--------------
Panel twelve
Susanne: My book!
--------------
Panel thirteen
Susanne: BOOK!
--------------
Panel fourteen
The End.
--------------
Panel fifteen
(The blank spot is where my actual name was. Since I'm not about to give out my full name over the Internet, I replaced it with my insignia. "Stunde" translates to "hour" or, in this context, "class period.")
--------------
Panel sixteen
Blue!
(Somehow a bit of blue stamp stuff got smeared there.)

And that is your German lesson for today. ^_^

I give you all a compendium of a bunch of the Sparky's random doodles from the first semester of the 2003-2004 school year. These are just a bunch of completely irrelevant drawings drawn over that time. I shall now ramble on endlessly about the different piccies, going from the top left-hand corner and working my way around the page more-or-less as if I were reading it. Brace yourselves!

We have... a howling bipedal wolf thingy, Tiger of the Wind from Monster Rancher (© to whoever it is that owns him), a dragony thing whose outline was drawn with a single line, the floating head of a fanged hors with an unusual horn on his nose (I know I bit the idea off some artist or another, but I can't remember who – if you, good artist, happen to stumble upon this pic and would like the two 'vampire horses' removed, I can do so without delay. Or, you can let me use them for this one random pic and I'll give you due credit, whichever works. ^^'), a claw, a dolphin, a Randomcritter, another RC drawn with a single outline, a goaty-dragon thing, a Randomcritter with a tongue like an alien from Alien and big cute eyes, some more dolphins [*goes back to the right side*], a foot, a bunny, a top view of some Randomcritter, a top view of a lizard with canine feet, some random squiggles around an even more random quote, an Asian dragon doing gymnastics on some words [*again back to right*], a snarling Randomcritter trapped between two lines of text, another one of those fangy horses, a Siamese-marked dragon, a small dragony Randomcritter wrapping its tongue around words while a snarling Randomcritter looks on [*ching! I reset the typewriter.*], Quetzalcoatl the Aztec god as I imagine him, another Siamese-marked dragony thing, a smiling Randomcritter getting glared at by another who has a sauropod of some kind on his back, a very fat platypus-like Randomcritter, a pelican-like birdy thing, a dragon who has the face of an anteater and his happy lobster ghost friend, yet another Siamese-marked dragon, an elephanty fluffy thing, a Randomcritter coming from off the page, and a dragon picking his nose with his tongue.

Phew! Search engine data complete. ^^' As I said, these are just completely spur-of-the-moment doodles from the first semester of my sophomore year. All these images, except the ones mentioned that aren't, are © to me, Sparky the Seventh Chaos. I have no idea why anyone would want to use any of these, but you're free to as long as you don't say they're yours or somesuch. Just drop me a line or something, eh? ^_^

One of my patented (well, not really) Randomcritters, this one looking rather dragony. I think the whole thing came of a desire to practice dragon wings, and so of course I had to draw an interesting dragony-looking thing to go with it. Some time ago, I had a really weird dream. Among other things, it involved Sonic, Tails, and Shadow from the Sonic the Hedgehog games (© Sega and Sonic Team) with a magical triceratops-type dinosaur reminiscent of Tricky from StarFox Adventures (© Rareware), only female, and they were trying to stop the Aztec god Quetzalcoatl from destroying the world. This is how I saw him in the dream - as a giant snake with feathery wings that shot lightning from his mouth. At some point he had a cobra hood, but it didn't stay for long.

I have no idea if the legends say Quetzalcoatl looked like this or not. I'm pretty sure I got the image from a book on dragon legends someone lent me that glancingly mentioned a snakelike dragon of South America, having feathery wings, that the book said probably inspire Quetzalcoatl.

My scanner was being stupid and scanned this one too lightly. I may re-upload it later, but for now... its is whee.

So big, I had to scan it in in four pieces.

This was an art assignment I did my Freshman year in high school. The idea was to make a CD cover for the fictional band Purge's debut CD, Pilot. Yes, I'm well aware I spelled Pilot wrong. Sue me. :-p ^_^

Anyhow, I kind of ran with it and decided the pilots in question were feline dragon pilots. The reason? I'm horrible at drawing humans and airplanes, but I can do anthro felines and dragons just fine.

Here's some old art I found. It's so long I had to scan it in in two pieces.

Anyhow, it was a school art assignment, and I forget what exactly it was for. Something about it being about you or something. The sections are pretty much arbitrary if I remember right - I had to cover up the blue that I left in the far right section, after I'd colored most of it the teacher let me rest my coloring hand.

The dragon in front of everything is a VERY early rendition of my dragonself. I think this was the first time I ever colored her. Her look has stayed pretty much the same, but there are some differences to how I now draw her. For one, her horns are thicker. For another, you can no longer see her ear when I draw her. See that little speck below her horn? That's an ear, not a mole. Her lower jaw's a bit less square, and her legs aren't quite that long anymore. Perhaps the biggest difference is that her wings are no longer green - they're an orangey-red color, now.

Now, behind Sparky are various things related to myself. Here's a brief description of everything from left to right:
A musical note, as I like music.

The Triforce from The Legend of Zelda.

A literal rendition of a few lines from the B-52 song "Private Idaho." ("You're livin' in your own Private Idaho/Oh where do I go from here to a better -- state than this/Well.../Don't be blind to the big surprise/Swimmin' 'round and 'round like the deadly hands/Of a radium clock/At the bottom/Of the pool...")

A Game Boy Advance, the same color as mine. Under it is a PokéBall from Pokémon.

Above Sparky's rump is a Mew with no forehead. The Mew's tail is pointing at the constellation Delphinus the Dolphin, a very important constellation in the videogame series Ecco the Dolphin. Under it is Sonic the Hedgehog's floating head. At the far right is Buck the Mewtwo's floating head. Whee!

This image was drawn, colored, and scanned in two pieces into her computer by Sparky the Seventh Chaos. If you want to put this on your site, she'll probably let you - all she really asks is that you tell her first.
