I started this portrait back in February, and worked on it here and there over the last five months. Faces are NOT my strong suit. However, I am fairly pleased with the way this turned out. Emily will be eight in October. It's amazing, isn't it, how fast time goes?

Drawn in Corel Painter 8 with my Graphire 2 tablet.

Here it is! My first Kushiel's Legacy fan work, featuring Phèdre nó Delaunay and Joscelin Verreuil. Drawing the two of them was easy; drawing the background--such as it is--was extremely difficult. However, I am pleased with the stained glass window. Ah! symbolism, even if it isn't too subtle. The stars in the upper panel represent Elua and his Companions; the bottom panel features an outline of Terre D'Ange, the swan of House Courcel, and an icon of Kushiel's Dart. The plaques to the side of the window represent some of the flowers of the Night-Blooming Court--mandrake, (bee) balm, and cereus. Not that you can make 'em out too well, but that's what they're supposed to be.

Drawn with my Graphire 2 tablet in Painter 8, PSP 8, and even PS 7. Lots of filters employed, particularly Eye Candy's Bevel Boss. Layers up the wazoo, too. And a small dabbling in vector art.

Hee hee... I drew this for my friend Gina's birthday. Amazingly enough, this is NOT the birthday card. This is the birthday card's ENVELOPE. ^_^;

If you're wondering about the joke--well, Gina is a big frog lover. Just not enamored enough to dress up AS a big frog. So where real life fails to amuse, an artist must turn to pen and paper! And doncha love the Keroppi balloon? *grin*

Additional Credits: The frog suit was inspired, in part, by Keroppi. The character designs, while my own, have developed from my love of anime and manga "superdeformed" figures.

I drew this little guy for my friend Nika. He was the envelope art for a little thank-you note. Unfortunately, due to time constraints, I was unable to color him in with pencils.

However, since I'd scanned him in, I knew he'd have to be colored at some point! So I finally did, and then turned him into my desktop.

I inked this drawing back in January; originally, I had intended it as a birthday card for my mom. Unfortunately, I screwed up the interior flap. ^_^;;

However, I scanned in the line art, with the full intention of coloring the kitty in pencils at a later date. Well, ha ha, that still hasn't happened. So, I decided to go the CG route instead. Mom thinks it's adorable. I'm glad.

I still suck at perspective shadow. x_x

Done on the computer (duh), with a Wacom Graphire 2 tablet in PSP 7. Because I'm lazy. All hail Eye Candy 4000's wood filter!

This is a coloring book illustration for my nieces. Roughed in with a trusty no. 2 pencil, inked in with a fine-tip gel pen. The paper is plain ol' legal-size fax paper.

The dolls featured are: a Peruvian village man (who's been in the family for 50+ years); a Japanese geisha (bought by my father in the 1970s); a little wooden boy (a gift from a friend); and a Japanese infant (one of my mother's childhood toys).

I don't know why, but out of the three doll illustrations I've done, this one has been the hardest. Maybe it's because I always try to out-do myself... Oy!

This illustration had no forethought. I started rough sketching the profile in cartoonish style, and somewhere along the way I decided to try pseudo-realistic.

Originally, I was going to leave it as the woman in profile; no jewelry, no sleeve. Just a redhead, with a not-quite-smile on her lips, baring her shoulder. Then my fantasist proclivities gripped me.

She ought to be a princesa, I thought. Why? Because it sounded cool, I guess. While I don't consider my effort entirely successful--what story does this illustration really tell?--I'm happy with the overall technique.

This is a drawing based on my mother's twelth grade high school picture. (Wasn't she a serious betty?) I wish I'd noticed that the eyes were so uneven before I started shading, though. Oh, dear... Drawn on a 8.5"x11" piece of bond paper with no. 2 and HB pencils.

I drew this card as a belated "Happy Mother's Day" sentiment. Mom really dug it. I think this is the first time I ever satisfactorily manipulated the "warm" and "cool" color schemes.

This is a card that I drew for my near-sister, Leslie. She's Wicce and a lover of faeries, hence the sentiment and the chosen subject matter.

I'm trying to incorporate more color into my works. D'you think I was successful?

Yup, a self-portrait of the 13-year-old I once was. The hair took a ridiculously long time to do. Drawn on a regular sheet of 8.5"x11" paper with #2 and HB pencils, and a tortillon for blending.

Drawn in late '97, this is my second Sailormoon-based fan art. They're original charas, Princess Alandra Selene and her beau Prince J'ei. I doubt I'll ever finish writing that story. ^^; Isn't the drawing pretty, though?
