The Wizard of Ak
The Wizard of Ak by @tarysand (Taryn Sanders)

After reading what is probably the best Invader Zim parody/musical fanfic ever written, I absolutely HAD to draw some fanart based on it ^^ So, Nadine, this is dedicated to you for writing one of the funniest, cutest, cleverest, most wonderful fics I've ever read. The story is basically The Wizard of Oz crossed with the IZ cast, and being a long time 'Oz' fan and a die-hard Zim fan this was just the perfect story for me. It was written just incredibly, and it was SOOO funny (the letters LOL have never rung so true as when I was reading it ^^). I think the biggest kick I got out of that fic was just picturing Zim, Gaz, GIR, and Dib singing the songs (which, by the way, were adapted so amazingly well to the characters). If ever there was a fic I wish could be made into an actual episode, this is one of the tops on my list. I very highly recommend reading this fanfic. Sorry, I just can't stop gushing ^^ I just LOVED this story! Anywayz, this is the scene where Dib, Gaz, and GIR meet up with Lion Zim for the first time. I improvised a few bits of dialogue from the actual fic and added a few lines I thought were funny. The BG is alright. I'm not to happy with the road (which is gray in the fic by the way, so yes it's supposed to look like that), but I'm very pleased with how the characters all turned out.
And aren't Dib's ruby slippers just darling? ^^ Dey so sparkly, heehee. Fanart from: Invader ZIM Artwork © Copyright 2002 Taryn Sanders

So good I have to say odd, spontanious words now. NEEF!! Chuckawhacka!! There, that's better, ahem. Everything looks to perfectly Spectra-art-like here, and I think that means you have special powers that force me to do things, like finding that fic and reading it about 7 times in a row. (If that didn't make sense, chalk it up to my "Sleep is for the mortals" motto)

Muhoh, the ruby slippers...I would immediately go and read Nadine's fic, except I can't seem to get to FanFiction.net. What's up with that? But back to the pic, as my friends and I say when something is class, this image is 3:16! Yar!

I came up with an idea for an IZ episode based off of this pic and Nadine's fanfic. It's the same plot, only different because here it is called "The Wizard of Mem" (you'll find out why it's called that when you read it) and the parts are switched around slightly:

Zim - "Zimothy" Dib - "The Big-Headed Scarecrow" GIR - "Zimothy's dog....GIR" Gaz - "The Tin Girl" (instead of looking for her game, however, she is looking for her heart...um...her emotions) Ms. Bitters - "Miss Gulch/The Wicked Witch of the West" SIR units - "The Munchkins" Purple - "The Cowardly Lion" Red - "the Wicked witch of the North" (you only will hear him screaming when the house falls on him) Glinda - unknown at this time. Jhonen, Steve and the rest of the IZ cast and crew - "The townspeople at the village Zimothy first arrives in"

I like Dib's expression. That was a pretty neat fic that Nadina wrote. Yep. And I like how you drew GIR.

Farewell, Cyn's friend.

I highly recommend sending this to Jhonen.

I nearly fell out of my chair and split a seam from laughing hysterically at your pic! This would make the best Zim episode EVER! And you're the best artist! stares Oh great, now I've got a mental image of the Scarecrow singing the Doom Song and scoffing tacos...heeheehee...Doom doom doom doom doom doom doom!
