I was playing around, mainly trying to color like the Dreamwave people. Painting the background in Painter, and CGing the character in Photoshop. It's not the exact effect they have, but I liked how it came out.

Of course there's a laundry list of mistakes that I'm well aware of, but I won't mention any, because I might be too picky.

That is amazing work. ::quiet envy:: I'm enamored with your command of depth throughout the image. I would've worried too much about varying and breaking up the lines on Shinobu but your method of diminishing the use of lines with extra (more than 2) layers of background solves that.

The only slight bug is that tree she's leaning on seems too small. (But I'm sure you knew) ^^;; Great job filling up all that dead space though- that's no easy task.

Its not too bad, structure on the characters body could be worked on but I like your scenery the best. Im working on backgrounds myself & youre doing so much better than me. I also like that car. :) I couldn`t draw cars right to save my life. :(
