My rpg character Aurel. I've always wanted to come up with a solid design for him, and I think this is it. He uses rune magic, and has runes scarred into his palms.

I think my favorite things about this are how his age shows, and the design on his jacket. Damn. I love that, shows good things can happen when you're dead tired and your tablet is going insane. I spent forever and a day on this, still things that could use work, but I like it and can't think of how to make the fire any more... Fire looking. Sugguestions are appriciated! 9+ hours on Open Canvas 3.0

I love the drowsy expression, and the colors--in both the fire and uniform-- are fantastic.

I love the way you did the flames. It looks like they're moving in slow motion! Wonder job on his clothes too! Hmm...suggestions.... Maybe putting brighter orange highlights on his clothes and face? It might add for a more dramatic effect.

The fire looks so beautiful. Nice job on the outfit too.

Wonderous. I know that pics like this at times don't even seem worth it, sure they're beautiful, but all that work. I just thought that this one was really eye'catching. Unfortunately, no matter how much talent someone has for this kind of thing, I find that they can't just throw something like this together, it takes work, even though someone's good at it... maybe if people lived longer something like this could seem effortless, but maybe it's better that it isn't.

I note the hints of Japanese influence in this; whether the character is Eastern, I don't know, but the flavour is certainly there... is that what you were aiming for? The expression is great, it seems relatively obvious that this char has done what he's doing dozens of times, as there's no hint of exitement on his face. The hair is good too, I think that it seems to be behaving realisticly, I also like maroon hair ^_^. The coat is great, it's always hard to pull of that modern-but-also-regal look, but here it is. You did the lighting in relation to the flames exceptionally well, and the stretch lines too. I can't quite explain it, but the blouse (can I call it that?) looks a bit flat, although unfortunately I couldn't tell you how to fix it, maybe slightly more agressive lighting? Otherwise, though, it's stunning. The sleve on the left looks as if the arm either bends in one too many places, or that the arm itself is curved, just because of the way it's shaded. The char's left hand looks a little leafy - by this I mean that the fingers don't look as independant as they ought to do, like feathers or maybe fronds of a fern or something, but I don't think too many will notice behind the fire. The trousers are good, I like the way they go from tight to lose as one's sight goes down. I'm not sure that the silk - is that what it is, silk - anyway, the things hanging on either side of the legs would be hanging at the angle that they're at right now... but they look okay, maybe they're magically suspended? The wrinkles and stress-lines are really convincing. The top of the boots look fine. You've done an excellent job blending the fire with the figure. I can imagine that that could be hard. The purple that you picked does the flames justice. I bet it's nice to have a decent reference pic for an RPG char.

If at least half the people left comments on my images like you do, I would die happy. Seriously. It's a wonderful feeling to know that someone took the time to actually study an image, pick out it's flaws and likings, and actually say something about it. I noticed the things like the hands, and the left sleeve, and thanks for bringing the stress marks to my attention. Now that I look back I agree, stronger lighting probebly would make it look a little more rounded and real. I was going for an eastern look, I really like aspects of traditional chinese clothing like mandarin collars and ties, but you never really seen it used outside a normal chinese character. You're right about the hanging tassle things... They need more bounce? They were something I added at whim to make the design a little more balanced. (They're actually coming from his belt.) It indeed did take a lot of time, but in art sometimes more is always better. I'm always trying to improve my abilities, even if it does take excessive amounts of time. Thank you very much once again for the comment, I wish I could rate it higher than 10. ;;
