A small colored pencil doodle (seriously, due to pixel resolution, its bigger on screen than it is on paper) coming from a bit of pondering... Armies of antiquity put a lot of stock in standards, and flags and whatnot. (Flags-even the armies of today) But when it comes to the standard bearer, why give that honor to a smelly, mud-stained, brootish grunt soldier? Would a scantly-clad hot chick be much more inspiring to the rank and file? 'Course they'd have to be kept away from the actual battle, but still...
