An Irken with a tragic past... As a child, his father, Zea, abused him. Blaming the death of his wife on someone so young, locking him in a closet for nearly a month, often hitting him, and always yelling. Things went from bad to worse when one day Black did something that he would regret for the rest of his life. He discovered his father's gun... While playing "target practice" with it one day, his little sister, Tai, ran in the way of one of the bullets. She was rushed to the hospital and presumed dead. One day Zea came home with a young boy. About Black's age, but with white eyes. His name was Nero, and though he disliked him now, Black would learn to call him "brother". They went to the Academy together, and graduated with high honor. Black had been named 2nd Commander. Only 16 now, he was charged with a mission on Earth. There, he met a beautiful girl, Pink, who he feel in love with at first site. She too was Irken, escaping her duty as Almighty Tallest, by hanging around on Earth. They became immediate friends, and soon fell in love. But tragedy would strike... Pink was called back to Irk, and would not see Black again until Purple had already preoposed marriage to her, and she accepted. Broken hearted, Black struggled to let Pink go, but found her impossible to forget. They vowed to stay good friends. During a visit with Pink at his house on Earth, Pink's husband, Purple, was murdered in his bedroom. Assasinated by Pink's "grandfather" Ranier. Ranier, who had once been killed, was brought back by the insidious Dr. Nezrus. Soon they were captured by the two, and Black found himself a guinea-pig for Nezrus's twisted experiments. He emerged with fangs, wings, and very long antennae. Convinced he was now a monster, Black fell even more so into his constant depression. Pink found she was pregnant with Purple's child, Isachar, and gave an unnatural birth to it in one of Nez's labs. Black's sister was discovered to have survived, and having been living with Dr. Nezrus, as an experiment, and a loving daughter. She had long abandoned the name she had when she lived with her brother, and now went by the name of Xzaide. Eventually they would escape, and slowly but surely recover from all the horror, but not without some emotional scars. Black and Pink raised Isachar together, but tragedy stuck again when the time came to tell Isachar the truth about his REAL father, and Black was quickly resented.
