"Mother?" A young girl asked while looking her mother's silver eyes, "What is to happen to me?"

The child mother looked down upon her daughter. The child, Diamante, is not human you see, nor is her mother.

Diamante is half dragon half human. The problem is that you can't be half dragon. You can only a full dragon. So this being so, Diamante is being sent into the human world. To live until she is 17. By then she would be old enough to handle the requirements to become a full dragon.

Diamante's mother, Fate, picked up the child. "Diamante, the future dragon of water, hopefully you will be strong enough to behold the power of water. Remember child, water dragon's are known for their beauty, wisdom, and kindness. But do not think that you are to be a cold stone," Her mother said with a slight chuckle, "people often say water dragons have a great sense of humor. So don't be afraid to make people laugh." Fate put the child down, and without knowing it, a tear had dropped from her right eye.

Diamante reached up and wipe the tear away. Right then Diamante began to disappear. Frightened she reached for her mother. "Mother! I don't wanna leave! Make them let me stay! I do not wish to leave!" She cried. Before her mother could respond to Diamante's cry, she disappeared.

"Just ten years Diamante......" Fate whispered into the wind.

Whispers sprouted in the main hallway in St. Micheal High. And those whispers were about one girl. All the whispers stopped when she walked pass them.

She walked as if royalty. Her hair was the strangest shade of blue. Some say you could see ocean waves in her beautiful hair. Her eyes were even more lovely. They were a very light blue, so light that they appeared silver. She was tall and elegant. Every guys dream. Yet she has never fallen in love. Never cared for no one. Her smile was cold. They often compared her eyes to the frozen depths of the Arctic Ocean.

'They all think that I cannot hear them...' She thought. She walked on to her first class as if she were in school by herself.
