North Dakota - RT2024
North Dakota - RT2024 by @ajfox (A Girtz)

Back in 2002, I created a sort of commemoration drawing for a road trip a friend and I took out into the west. It was drawn in the state of Colorado in a hotel room in Montrose one night.  When I came across it again recently (I believe it's here on Side7) I decided to do it again, this time commemorating 2 different trips in the same month, as a thank you/in recognition to the people of the states I visited.

North Dakota, this one's for you!

I picked and anthro'd a few of the many animals found in this great state along with their state flag, a change from an originally envisioned landscape design that actually came about during the following road trip to Texas a few weeks later.  New story characters, perhaps? Time will tell.

The animals:  Bison, Prairie Dog, Pine Marten, White-tailed Jack Rabbit and Brown Bat.

I've visited the peace garden state a few times, but I still have a lot to explore there, and am looking forward to going back again.

I may have started something I'll have to finish retroactively.
