Reidiyin Umeko
Reidiyin Umeko by @laursefc (Lauren Sefchik)

Yes, another 'oldie but badie' I always manage to dig up and for some unexplained reason, put it up here to embarass myself with. ^_^*

Like Sheridan, Reidiyin was inspired from the Enix RPG, Vakyrie Profile. Namely, Mystina. I toiled with actually calling this a Fan-Art piece because Reidiyin isn't anything like Mystina attitude-wise. Somehow, my initial hopees for her to be a bad--- scorceress turned into a Southern comfort-type bookworm. She's also more of a White Mage than a Black one...and from there the 'Mystina inspiration' went in a totally opposite direction. About the only thing that I give copyright credit to is the main purple bodice piece and the patterns & colors on the slitted skort. Afterwards, the rest of the outfit was completely redesigned from there along with the staff and such. In a way, I nabbed the clothes. But otherwise, she's my character with initial inspiration that sorta happened but didn't. I dunno, if someone flames me for it I'll take it off...otherwise, I don't think I'm impeding on fashion copyrights.

Medians used were ink and Prisma Markers that actually...combined with the scanner, made her have a more natural diversity of skin tone. That was one plus...the other...it's just an old old drawing. ~_~*

Ah but the odd ones are always the most interesting ones. Along time ago I saw this anime on the Sci Fi Channel, I couldn't tell you the name if my life depended on it, but her face & hair reminds me of it. As for the clothes, have you ever heard of a PS game called "The Legend Of Mana"? They whole thing is in pastels, & her outfit reminds me of the bar tender's. I like the way the pastels stick out compared to the black bg. It looks a lil side heavy on the right there, but that's just because of the signature & staff light. No biggie. I like her child/elfish/mischevious little smirk. You never cease to amaze me. -Kinabaki
