I've never been a big Metroid fan, never got into it besides Super. Oh well. It's still pretty cool.

While awaiting Metroid Prime, I got an idea for a picture... To draw a picture of Samus depicted as a Greek Goddess, dedicated to... Well.. Infinite Gameplay, since Metroid games are addictive and you can replay them over and over and over again and it never ceases being fun. Anyway... As I drew the picture.. it expanded into more of a painting/mural type thing... 6_9 But the idea is still the same. Samus is in the center, in a toga, with a crown of leaves, and a little bit of skin (obviously, this would have been sculpted, painted, whatever, in the Hellenistic Period, when the Greeks discovered that they could sculpt things OTHER than naked men :p ) because it just seems natural that way, with her arm cannon in one hand and the Varia in the other. And of course, sitting on the twin Metroids at the foot of the picture, Ridley with the Screw Attack and Kraid holding the High Jump Boots. In the background... You can see Zebes and ... I forget... I THINK that's supposed to be a Chozo statue... And Mother Brain... Though.. I don't like them there anymore... The final picture may not have them.
Anyway... I began drawing this, and spend quite a lot of time on it and even began inking it.. But.. I never finished it... Hopefully, though.. One of these days, I'll finish it!

This really is a neat concept for a picture, and it's so incredibly detailed! I like how Samus, Ridley, and Kraid are holding items from the game, and the detail of the Ridley and Kraid statues is amazing! I agree about the Chozo statue and Mother Brain--I don't really think they fit in the picture so well, unless maybe you made them bigger and kinda faded into the sky...? I don't know if I described that right, but it seems like it would be neat... One comment--Samus's gun arm seems kind of small... Maybe it's the perspective, but it seems like it should be bigger... ^^;;; I can't wait to see how the finished image comes out! :D

This is shaping up to be a magnificent picture! If anything, I would suggest that you get rid of the Chozo as well as Mother Brain. While they would be interesting to have int he picture they are currently doing nothing to enhance the picture as it is. The idea of Samus in the style of a Greek goddess is brilliant, and I love the metroids and Ridley and Kraid holding items. If you could just define the Boots a bit more in Kraid's hands, that would work out really well, I think.
In addition, consider doing something with the positioning of Samus's feet. As it stands, her pose is great but her feet make her general posture look a bit off. If you could angle them a bit or something, I think it would help solidify that Samus is standing at an angle.
Other than that, if you do a great job in coloring the planet and making the space around the planet interesting (you know, some interesting "outer space" effects aside from the typical stars and whatnot), you should have a real winner on your hands.
And if that's the case, if it comes out really well and the coloring turns out excellently (which I'm sure it will), I may even consider paying you a fair amount of money for the picture, or for at least a great copy of it. ^_~

Yeah, the Chozo's DEFINATELY leaving! Though.. I have an idea of what to do with Mother Brain that'd be awesome! ;)
It's a little late to do something with Samus' feet though. It's already inked and thus.. Set in stone. :p Sure, I COULD try and change it in Photoshop, but I don't want to spend 50 hours on just her foot. :p Then again.. We'll see, I guess. :p
I'm not sure how much better defined I can make the High Jump Boots better defined.. ^^;;; Maybe if I put a halo or something around it. ^^;;;;;;;;;;;;
Er... Y-you want a PRINT of this?! O_O;;;;;;;;;; I think I'll just bump this up the To-Do List a few spaces. :p Just as soon as I finish Rin and Nadia's birthday picture! ;)
okay, your pic is great. But, it shouldn't be a M-rated pic try Teen rating. Yhis one doesn't show much and a M-Rated one would show more than that
