Day 17: Rose

Before we start: I SUPER HEAVILY REFERENCED THIS. I basically traced those hands and Utena!corn's whole arm/shoulder pauldron, because that's just... an iconic look I couldn't replicate.

Look, I am Utena trash. I couldn't think of what to do, until lav3nd33r was like "hear me out: Utena Unicorn." I have been WANTING to do some SKU/RGU reference-ish art, and while I'm still gonna do something else but I've been wanting to use like... this scene in some kind of re-draw art. So, yeah, re-draw of official art of Utena and Anthy!corns.

May be heavily referenced but still turned out beautifully! Love the brown unicorn. Marwari with those curly ears? Love those horses but you never see people draw them.

@Chaos-Mirror: Yep! Anthy is based on a Marwari, Utena on an Andulusian.

When I first saw this, I couldn't help but think of Utena. I suppose that explains why, but I've never actually watched Utena. It came out quite nice and true to its origin.

@fragmented_imagination: Utena is one of those super-important to me things, after finally watching it (and having known about it for quite a while before I ever did), so I'll basically never suggest that someone NOT watch it at some point (just be prepared for some creepy stuff, because uh... YEAH lol). Current license holder Nozomi Entertainment has it on their YouTube channel.
