LittlePrayer-SonicTheHedgehog-CityNightHighway by @XxTheCreativeKitsunexX (XxTheCreativeKitsunexX)

Being a fan of the Sonic games especially Sonic Generations and the Dreamcast games.

I thought it was high time the Blue Blur got some attention in music form from me. Being I had never done a Sonic style piece of music before this was a MAJOR hurdle to overcome. I spent months wracking my brain trying to come up with something that sounded like it belonged in a Sonic game. I tried many variations and techniques as well as various sounds and was coming short. It wasn't until I played Sonic Rush on the DS that I finally found something that sounded good.

I wanted to make sure the track is faithful to the feel of speed, playfulness and intensity the music in the sonic games had. I set out to work on this surprise track months ago and finally after weeks and weeks of work I came up with the final track idea and began to work. The final outcome is as you will hear VERY lovingly created with that need for speed sound that Sonic is well known for, or at least I hope so. You the audience be the final judge of that and how well I captured the essence of the Sonic Franchise. I originally was going to add lyrics in but decided against it being I wanted something that sounded like game play music rather then some cut scene.

Whatever we may say about the franchise as a whole, at least the music's a bop.

Ironically this calls to mind the Red Alert soundtracks in places... remind me to ask if I can pinch this for a mod...

@Thorvald: We can talk turkey about it sometime but because this is a original piece of work I might ask for compensation of some sort.

I was listening to some Sonic game music not long ago.  I couldn't recall exactly from which game, but it was on par with the Dreamcast era.  This tune would fit right in to am OST of that time easily.  Upbeat and jumpy, just as it should be in the Sonic world.  Excellent job!

@ajfox: When creating this I was going for a more stylized side scrolling sonic theme that eventually turned into a more modern sounding track from the 3D Sonic games.  The result was a track that was a hybrid of modern instruments but was being utilized into something a bit different then your normal Sonic theme.  The idea was to represent Sonic running, how he is slow to start but then as he gains momentum and speed I wanted the music to convey that feeling and the rush of how it would be to BE Sonic.  This was the end result of that little experiment, I wanted to think like a someone who is developing a Sonic game and how they would match the music to the game in some special way.
