So my laptop just gave its final breath. No fore warning, no nothing. Everything on it, gone. Even my new sonic pieces I started. Goodbye Impact Knuckles and Siesta Sonic, you weren’t meant to last. This should sadden me more but I’m just annoyed >:( I still got it on the charger hoping it’s an elaborate ruse. If I feel up to it I may restart those two, but right now it’s sleepy time. Good night zzzzz
@BadKarma: Back in '21 my drive crashed hard and the last backup was basically a clean install. It cost me an arm and a leg but I was able to get almost everything recovered through a digital forensics company; ironically I might've saved more if I hadn't tried recovery myself. :B
This feels ominous because I wanted to do a backup yesterday but I can't find my ruddy boot disc. D:
@BadKarma: Thank you so much for the advice!! I’m planning to take it in. Just last night it was able to turn on thankfully, but it only works when it’s on the charger. Goes completely black when I take it off. Gonna transfer everything like you said and then see what they say TvT
Did the laptop itself give up the ghost, or did the hard drive crash? If it's the laptop, then you might be able to pull the hard drive and copy files off of it to a new computer.
