Phoenix from the flame
Phoenix from the flame by @zenphoenixa (Annabel Lee)

About time I got started on requests I promised to do ages ago... :p After I'm done with these, I'll be taking a break from requests until my next holiday break, me needs a vacation...! @@ Anyway, this is a request for Phoenix of his character.... er, Phoenix, who is the fire son of Athena in a story he's writing... I had no real description of him apart from his helmet and the fact that he had red armour, something which I very stupidly forgot to take note of, do'h!! so this is just my impression. The colouring was a veeeeery long task, I took four consecutive hours today to do the pencil colouring, and two more hours do do the computer background and effects - I now officially love the dodge tool. ^^ Apologies for the scanty background, I had no idea what to put in there, the most I could do was to put the shape of a cross in the background frame, so try to use your imaginations and see it... =P The Phoenix bird was just an optional thing I threw in, can you believe it's been five years since I've drawn a red phoenix?? O_O;;; This one really reminds me of a capsicum with feathers.... XD And the title? I was listening to Sinead O'Conner's song 'Troy (Phoenix from the flame)' on repeat for inspiration, some of the lyrics just helped me think a bit.... "...when did the light die? You will rise, you will return... Phoenix from the flame... you will rise, you will learn.... being what you are.... there is no other Troy for you to burn...."

O.O Wow. This is so amazing. The lighting, the pose, the... the EVERYTHING! Man, when I see art like this I just wanna... I don't know but it makes my eyes seriously like, pop out! It reminds me of a tarot card, almost, I really love how you can't see his eyes! Have you ever considered doing a tarot deck? Or at least the major arcana? That woudl be sooooo cool with your mad talents. Hey, enjoy your break from art trades. We all need time to work on our own stuff!
