Another pic of the Russian composer Tchaikovsky, but that one is from 1861. He always looks sad on all the photos and paintings that show him. So I also gave him a sad face expression. Done with pencil, 6B.
Oooh, very lovely portrait of the composer! The soft shading and the emphasis on the lips and eyes works marvellously to create a very tense feeling about the portrait... very well done. From what little I've read of his life, he never seemed to be a very happy person - living and composing in Russian in that day and age was not the most pleasant way to make a living, it seems.
Just a tiny-little critique, but I think his right eye (viewer's left) is a little low on his face. But besides that... 'tis beautious!
