Little Nny
Little Nny by @cinda7 (Cinda 7)

A pic I doodled up at about 1 in the morning. What? It was the weekend and I wasn't tired! Sue me! Anywho, I sometimes wonder about Johnny and about his past. After all, no one goes insane for no reason. It had to have been a rough childhood, or a death of a loved one, or SOMETHING. When I think of a younger Nny, I see a little boy scared and alone because all the kids tease him as school and his parents ignore him and fight. He is meek, feeble, and helpless. He reminds me of Johnny Cade from The Outsiders. (It's quite a sad book.) Behind him is his childhood play thing and only friend, Mr. Bear-Bear. (I was going to add something like a rabbit or dog or something, but the bear just seemed to suite him well.) Mr. Bear-Bear is like Shmee, but instead of being a pyromaniac, he's always getting Nny to commit suicide. He's like the Johnny in the song by POD:

"Johnny Boy always played the fool He broke all the rules so you would think He was cool He was never really one of the guys No matter how hard he tried Often thought of suicide It's kind of hard when you ain't got no friends He put his life to an end They might remember him then He crossed the line and there's no turning back Told the world how he felt With the sound of a "gat!"

(Babs introduced me to that song. It's one of the sadest songs I've heard!) I often think of Johnny as just a helpless soul trying to find his place in the world. (Aren't we all?) Often he is seen as a violent and insane figure, when in truth, he's just trying to get by. But that didn't seem to work, and it seems as though the only way he can be satisfied is to be as cold as the moon itself: to be an unfeeling robot amoung humanity. That's what I think life can do to you. You become a cold, unfeeling jerk and only care for yourself. However, in Nny's case, I think he's going to try and go beyond that and not feel anything at all. Err... am I right Jhonen? Did I figure Nny right? I hope so. And if not, that's just my opinion. All I know is that he's got some serious issues! Whines and hugs little chibi-Nny Artwork © Copyright 2002 Cinda 7

it truly is adorable, and I love that song. But people can actually become insane without a rough childhood ya know...
