The New Do
The New Do by @yazzi (Mezz Delf)

yes it's ALL COLOUR - ALL THE TIME! ahem, er it's what you'd call an early attempt at using Prisma Marker and pencil together. I will persist! Generally I like the idea of the foal using its Mum's tail as a new hair-do (just in case you thought the other horse had a foal growing out of its tail), but at the moment i lack the skill with thses markers to have made it as good as it could have been. Oh it's A3 size in RL btw. P.S the mare's backlegs annoy me grrrr they need grass around them because she's floating awaaaaaay

Awwww! The foal (particularly his/her face, so expressive) is adorable! And, I really like your handling of mixing the two media. Especially on the foal and the tree. They're simply lovely to look at.

One of your most solid pieces every, I think. Great colors, anatomy looks pretty solid from here (though i'm no horse expert), nice bg...

Issues I have: I'im wondering if the perspective is right. AtT least, when I look at the feet of the colt, combined with the tree/tree root, I get a little confused, like it doesn't match up as well as it should.

Also, the story could be told a little better (the thumbnail wasn't very clear, until after I read your description, and even then, one could be confused with the closeup)...but you already said you knew this, so I'm babbling..

Really nice stuff, dear. Email me more, will ya?
