Cheshire Sphynx
Cheshire Sphynx by @gravewalker (Sunny C)

This was done with watercolors when I visited art class one day. I love watercolros, although sometimes they hate me. >:0

This was not one of those times.

Cheshiresphynx is a cheshirecat + egyptian sphynx. My love for the ancient and for the odd together as one. :D

I really like the combination of the Cheshire cat and the Egyption Sphinx--it's like mystery doubled with humor on the side. I would say watercolors definetly did not hate you on this piece, the coloring looks excellent. I think the shading on the face in particular is excellent. The paint did get a little blurry in some areas, like the wings and on her bottom paw, but watercolors are finicky.

What stood out the most in this picture to me is the background. I really love the colors, and I am really curious about the technique you used. Layering? The way the colors are all piled up like that, it looks like a sunburst. Very, very cool!

Excellent job on keeping the stripes neat an even--have to add that. Overall, great job!

Thank you for the kind comment! ^_^ I did blur it a bit, but I was trying to finsh in a certian time, and well... as you said watercolors are finicky.

Well, the tec. was moreso a lucky accident. XD I had yellow layered real light, and tried to make a redish border. it leaked in so I took my aintbrush and 'blotted' it around her.

This is probably one of the most unique things I've seen in a while. Your colors are spot-on and beautiful, and the slight smile on the face? Beautiful. Keep up the excellent work.

Thank you so much! I loved matching the colors to the character, and soft... kinder looking creatures allways make me happy when I finsh drawing them.
