Not A Normal Guy
Not A Normal Guy by @Mel (Melanie Smits)

This is Kaylen, a demon character I created about two years ago. This is the second drawing I ever did of him ^^;; His powers have everything to do with water, ice and wind, hence the mist. He also has a very big sword that can appear out of thin air when he wants it to, and the ability to charm any member of the opposite sex. Oo His species of demon is not something I made up myself, Kaylen was created as the ancestor of my friend's half-demon character.

This was done entirely in OpenCanvas, except for the border.

::is charmed, instantly:: Why... hello... Ahem! I'm supposed to be giving you comments on your art, not thinking about how gorgeous he is... Anyways, this is a great piece--nice frame, great colors and shading, and I love the magic effect. My favorite part, however, is the pose. He has an excellent pose with very well-rendered hands--did you draw the lineart in Open Canvas too? o.O Even if you DO have a tablet, that's still an impressive feat. His seductive expression is well done, but there is something odd about the actual positioning of his face. It just doesn't seem to be quite proportional to the rest of his head. I can't quite place why, but perhaps you will know? Other than that, I love everything about this picture. I definetly want to see more of your art--and this guy in particular.

Thanks a lot! ^_^ Yes, I did do the lineart and the sketch in OC as well... it took a while though... I'm just too fed up with my scanner to use it if I don't really have to. Good to see Kaylen's powers work through computer monitors as well. :D
