I took a phtograph from 1864 (year of the coronation) of Ludwig´s head and supplemented the thorax.
Ludwig´s favourite colour was blue so I drew a blue robe.
Bavaria´s colours (Ludwig II. was king of Bavaria) are blue and white, so I had to create a very light background. White wasn´t good therefore I used light grey.
Done with chalk.
Very nice shading on the head and hair. You gave the hair a lot of texture and the face is simply wonderful. The upper body is a bit plain for the head; more shading and definition would help bring this picture to life. Nice work as it is, though.
