An Attempt in a New Perspective...
An Attempt in a New Perspective... by @katduga (Kat Dugas)

I've had this sketch in my book for a while, and I just happened to scan it Sunday morning (our computer lab has Mac scanners now, joy!), and since I was coloring a lot of stuff today, thought I'd give this one a try.

I'm trying to stop from making the lines so dark, and make the picture look more like a painting than an animation cel.

Oh, by the way, this is Vulcan Hephestus, a few years back when he was younger. See, Vulcan was born with a lame leg (hence the brace and crutch there), so he thought he'd never amount to much. Since he couldn't run very well, he spent a lot of time, well, doing what he's doing in this picture...lying in the grass, staring at the sky, and working with his hands. Eventually he becomes a master blacksmith, and a rather good swordsman - considering he can't use his bad leg too much. I like how his eyes and hair came out. Now I'm gonna go to bed like I should, seeing as it is like 2AM right now...
