"To the distant storm

"(Your) incredible lightning
"Shines on the path"

One of the things I enjoy about where I live is the odd occasion where I drive home through a small stretch of countryside when there are storms around at night. The sky is mostly unimpeded, and I usually see the clouds light up on either side of the road as I drive. The storms like to drop some serious weather, but I'm usually cautious before I drive home in them. It can be quite a sight.

I wrote this tanka a couple nights ago after I got home from such a drive. I tried to use a more cursive style when I wrote it on paper. I also wrote it a few times to find a decent look before I scanned it and the ink drawing I made on a separate sheet of paper. The drawing, I didn't do to the full page because the fude pen I use is incredibly low on ink; I need a new one. Still, I think it came out all right.

I'm happy to see you got an opportunity to make some new art.

@The-Wizard-of-Zaar: I'm happy, too. I've never been very consistent with making art.
