There are 3 real stages to Tatsu

1) Short hair, begins comic / Story this way

2) Begins to grow hair out ( Due to the fact i like diversity, so if his hair grows over the span of the comic strip, im not always drawing the same thing )

3) And it finally gets long enough that he gets bored and puts it in a braid.

Tatsu is infused with the spirit of a dragon, and hes using his "Draconic" powers in this picture, a picture illustrated for the part of the story where his friend dies. The "Why?" at the bottom, is him questioning why some things happen, such as his friend dieing.
