Biography

Me? I'm known mostly as Zpan Sven or Z in some circles. I was inspired to draw by comic books growing up and later grew to love anime when I first caught sight of a show called 'Sailor Moon' on TV while waiting for the school bus in the mornings.

Over the years I have grown in my art and writing styles; I developed my skills through the purchases of various art books -- I rather recommend anything by Christopher Hart, brilliant work -- and trial and error. My Dream is to be a writer/Illustrator though I'll be honest when I was younger I wanted to be a fashion designer laughs You can see that in my art, since I tend to design what my characters wear generally from my own imagination.

I used to really want to work for Devil's Due Publishing, mostly because they had the current license for the GI JOE comics which were the very comics that inspired me to draw in the first place. unabashed tomboy I still would love to work for them, as a penciller, colorist, or whatever, because I have had the chance to meet some of the staff from there and find them to be very nice people.

I'm pretty varied in my skills, since several of those who I have asked suggest to show diversity in my portfolio to up my chances to get employment. I love to work in both the traditional medias of pencil and paper, along with coloring with markers and can paint digitally as well. My preferred painting program is Photoshop 7 and before anyone asks, I don't use a tablet or anything like that. Its just me and Squeaky-chan pats her digital mouse fondly

I'm rather easy-going despite my upbringing and being a Republican along with a rather devout Christian. I tend to play peacemaker and listen to everyone's opinions before making any judgment calls so don't worry about me jumping down anyone's throat -- unless you like, start crap with someone who doesn't deserve it because I'm more inclined to protect someone else then myself. As Mama taught me: “You don't start sh*t. You finish it” :grins:

Its a bit weird writing this -- I tend to be one of those who stay in the background, lurking around and just blending in...
