All the Sun You Need by @kidkourage (KidK Mirai)

Today do be yet another birthday amongst my headvoice crew! =D;; This time, though, it's also the birthday of a historic figure, a musical genius by the name of Modest Petrovich Mussorgsky. u.u He just happens to live in my head now. He is 166 today...or 30 if you believe what he has to say. ^.^ He is my hero and most favorite composer ever.

Okay, so pic needs explanation if you don't know Mussorgsky or his music. This guy was not very much into the traditional 'Classical' music scene where you composed according to form, nossiree. u.u He was a product of the Romanticist movement in Russia (which wasn't as EVIL as German Romanticism, but I shall not get into that, RK ¬.¬;), and favored the concept of music as a way to express emotion, to tell a story, or to paint a picture. So it's not very surprising that his most celebrated work was titled 'Pictures at an Exhibition.' =B So yeah. MM's ideal of music was to evoke a feeling in his audience, to make them see the image that inspired him to write in the first place. And so, the pic! ^.^;; Of my dearest Modest-kun weaving a warm, bright sunset out of the air using his piano...in contrast to the snow outside and the cold of his--very poorly kept, I'm afraid--apartment in St. Petersburg. 6.6 MM did not live a very priveleged life, after his parents were deprived of their estate. But he always had music, and despite what everyone said about him not being clever, or about his compositions lacking polish...he never gave up. And you see how many people recognize the 'Promenade,' as opposed to ANY of that creep Rachmaninoff's or the rest of 'The Five''s work? HUH?! Hmf. u.u;;

Let's wish Modest-kun a happy 30th/166th, okay. ^.^ After all, he's given the world so much beautiful music. He deserves a day of happy and warm. ...just don't anybody offer him alcohol, or he'll drink until he falls asleep. 9.9;;;;;;;
