I can't believe you scanned this in several pieces--it all fits together so nicely! What's your secret? I have so much trouble doing that, it's unreal!

hmmmm....lets see if I can explain this...

first, I scan two to four images (depends on the size of original). One that has the right top of the image, one that has the left top, left bottom, and then right bottom. Next I open up a new image that will fit all four(to two) pics, and move them all into the new image. (does that make any sense?!)

errmmm...once I have all the images on the new canvas, I just start lining them up (you know, one goes under the other, just lining up the...well...lines o.0) . I normally have to zoom in to 300% to make sure I have everything right, but with a little patiance (something I tend to lack - hence the fact that Kori's chin is too long...)

I don't know about your scanner, but mine tends to leave a shadow on the adges of images. I just erase that, flatten the image, reduce the size and POOF! Like that, I have a beautiful reduced image.

I'm really sorry if that made no sense.

I see. The problem with my scanner is that the pieces I scan will not add up--for some reason, they all scan at different sizes. I mean, some parts will be bigger than others--like the top of someone's head will be huge, and then their chin that should line up to it will be half the size. I don't know why--I scan everything in at the same size and dpi. Hmm.

I think all scanners do the dark lines-thing. Thanks to Photoshop and the magical power of LAYERS, I can easily remedy that! Weehoo!

I just realised I didn't even comment on your image itself. O.O My bad. I really love your lines--especially the ones you used on her lips and eyes. They're really gorgeous, and you have a talent for strands of hair. I really like the details in her earrings (I just got my ears pierced two or three hours ago...) Very cool.

The hands are both well-drawn, but the one in the right-hand side of the image seems kind of unnattached. Like it's not too clear where it's coming from. I think if it was a little closer to the top of her head, you would be able to see it clearly is the guy's. It's a very nice composition, though, I'm very impressed! My fave part is how her hair curves down around the bottom to kind of 'frame' the pic. Very nice.

laughs thank you! I actually meant to ask for advice on his hand (just can't get it where I want it to go - but I think I might have a good reference photo now....) but you seem to have commented on it anyways^^ Thanks!

And have fun with those new earings...when you can take them out of coarse...
