Happy Souther 2016!
Happy Souther 2016! by @Roadstripe (CyberCorn Entropic)

The Tao of Squirrel. Happy Souther, folks!

Yesterday or the day before yesterday (July 7) was the first Sunday after the first Full Moon after the Northern Hemisphere's Summer Solstice. That means I missed Souther by one or two days, depending on the time zone. :(

I was going to skip it this year as I have the last few years, except I remembered that I'd been futzing about with this picture to make it look as I envisioned it from the beginning, as a squirrelly version of the yin-yang mandala. He's the yang – light, summery, active, masculine – and she's the yin – dark, wintry, passive, feminine. Neither is intrinsically good or evil in and of themselves. Only when they are in balance is there good, and when they are out of balance, problems occur.
