Q is for Queen
Gloire City, once pulsed with excitement and anticipation from the Pokémon Master Class Showcase, has dissipated, leaving behind a calm and peaceful stillness. The streets were devoid of the hustle and bustle of trainers and their Pokémon, and the only movement was the gentle rustling of the leaves, the occasional hoots of a Hoothoot, and the whispers of the wind as it weaved through the trees. But even as the crowds dispersed and the streets emptied, the city refused to let go of the energy and vibrancy that had filled it just hours earlier. Instead, it transformed into a different beauty that could only be appreciated once night fell. The starry sky above remained vital with light and darkness, with a tapestry of stars shimmering like jewels against the deep blue backdrop. The full moon was the centerpiece of the celestial show, casting a soft and mystical light over the city that made everything seem surreal.
A small smile tugged Jessie's face as she leaned against the balcony, closing her eyes and taking a deep breath, letting the cool night air fill her lungs. As she exhaled, she felt her body relax, and the tension and stress flushed away. In her eyes, the stars were extra bright. It was one of those rare moments where she felt at peace with herself and the world around her. Her thoughts raced back to her performance that had taken place earlier that day. Jessie was one of the participants, and although she did not win, she was proud of herself for having made it that far.
She was lost in her thoughts until she heard footsteps behind her. Jessie turned around to see who it was, and it was James, standing there with a grin. “Hey, Jess. How's the view?” He questioned, walking toward her.
“It's wonderful,” she replied, looking back at the stars. They both stood there in silence, embracing the awe of the evening sky and the blazing lights that painted the city with pretty colors. Ulteriorly, James broke the silence barrier.
“Are you sure you're not angry for not winning?”
“Why should I be angry?” Jessie turned her head and asked. “Like I said before, at least I managed to make it so far with you and Meowth cheering me on from the sidelines. And besides, it's not always about winning, right?”
It was clear to James that Jessie was not usually prone to moments of tranquility. For a long time, he had grown accustomed to her fiery attitude, personality, and tendency to get easily agitated by setbacks. She was like a ticking time bomb, waiting to explode, and it was almost always predictable. But tonight was different. He saw another side of Jessie that he hadn't seen in ages. James stifled a contented sigh and nodded.
“You're right. It’s not always about winning. Sometimes, it's about the journey and the experience we gain along the way, not just the destination.”
His array of words led to their fingers intertwining. Their hearts pounced with a warm sensation that spread through their bodies. Jessie glanced at James, and he returned her gaze with a smile. They turned around and faced each other, their eyes locked in a moment of understanding and connection.
“You have such a way with words,” Jessie mused feebly, stroking a strand of James's lavender locks, making his heart race and his cheeks heat up from her touch. “Did I ever tell you that?”
Leering into her blue, sapphire eyes, he saw a reflection of his own emotions. He could see the same uncertainty and anticipation epitomize back at him. Every fiber within James’s body knew he felt a deep connection with Jessica, a magnetic pull that drew him closer. It was a moment of vulnerability that he rarely allowed himself to feel. Her lips were mere inches away, and he could feel her warm breath on his face. He leaned in closer, his eyes locked on hers, and his pulse quickened. Their mouths parted, and their noses gingerly brushed as they lingered, savoring the moment. He could feel the electricity between them, the tension building with each passing second. James wanted to kiss and sense her lips against his but refrained, fancying to make it last, to make it perfect.
Jessie leisurely reopened her eyes with a deep sigh, and with a low, yearning voice, she murmured, “Fuck it, may I just kiss you?”
A musing so brazen made James’s cheeks puff out like a puffer fish, and his body froze before repressing a laugh, albeit a nervous one. With a playful glint in his eyes, he displayed a rather seductive smirk as his finger circled her dress. “I thought you’d never ask.”
Soon, the world around them faded away, and James closed the distance between him and Jessie, and their lips met in a fiery, passionate kiss. Their tongues danced together in a sensual tango, exploring each other's mouths with fervor. His hands slid down her back and thrust his hands into the hem of her dress, exploring his way up and reaching her breasts. Jessie’s hands ran through James’s hair and worked her way down, hoping to reach into his pants.
Engrossed in their little moment, Meowth and their Pokémon crept up to them, and all had sly looks on their faces.
“Heh, look at dese love boirds,” the scratch-cat retorted, his voice oozing with sarcasm. “Gettin’ hot ‘n’ heavy up ‘ere. Don’t mind us. We’ll just be ova here, mindin’ our own business.”
“Wobba-wobba!”
“In-kay!”
“Gourgeist!”
Devotion quickly turned into embarrassment and irritation for Jessie and James as they were pulled back into reality by Meowth’s presence.
“MEOWTH!” Jessie seethed, clenching her fist.
“Can’t you see we’re busy?!” James yelled.
Meowth’s smile widened as he continued to stare at the fuming duo. The obvious displeasure in their faces made him joyous.
“Oh, I see youse busy alroight… busy makin’ googly eyes,” the Pokémon chuckled. Wobbuffet, Inkay, and Gourgeist decided to chime in and laugh with him. “A-and while youse at it, youse two should get a room.”
Jessie reached her breaking point. She growled under her breath as she gritted her teeth, her veins popping out of her head. She reached for her shoe, took it off, and threw it like a dodgeball.
“SHUT UP!” she screamed.
James recoiled from her screaming and the way she threw the shoe. Nonetheless, it was arduous to maintain his laughter. Her shoe landed directly at Meowth’s face, making it an easy bullseye. The force of Jessie’s throw was so powerful it sent him flying back inside the restaurant. The other three Pokémon panicked and rushed back inside to ensure their friend was all right. Jessie attempted to calm her racing heart as she clenched the fabric of her dress.
James leaned back against the balcony while he rolled his eyes and crossed his arms. “Great, now we’ve probably made a scene,” he sighed heavily.
“As if that cat doesn’t make a scene every time we’re out in public,” Jessie huffed.
Shoving the episode aside, James turned and gaped into her eyes, fidgeting a strand of her bang. “Now, where were we?” he pondered, his tone barely above a whisper.
Jessie snickered and wrapped her hands around James’s waist. She suddenly remembered something and picked her head up. She widened her smile and leaned towards his face, bringing her nose in contact with his while glaring intently into his emerald-colored eyes.
“The feast is still on your wallet, you know?” Jessie said, her voice low and faint like before.
James giggled softly. “With pleasure… my dear~.”
Back inside the restaurant, Meowth sat grumpily at a nearby table, rubbing his sore nose while Wobbuffet, Inkay, and Gourgeist formed a sympathetic circle around him.
Damn, I guess I betta watch my mouth next time.
