Sophia Loren
Sophia Loren by @Hippy_of_Doom (Sabrina A Thomas)

Not sure about this one. It never felt as if it was 'going right' all while I was drawing it. I want to say this is for my friend Laura, who loves Sophia, and I don't think I would have drawn her if it hadn't been for Laura, but I don't think it's good enough to dedicate to someone!

I feel I should say something about her neck - the way the skin has gathered is really odd, but that's how it is in the reference image (which is from the book "Images of Movie Stars"). Her mouth and eyes looked correct in the drawing, but in the scan they really aren't. Argh. And the diamonds aren't sparkly enough. Drawing this was really disjointed, so I don't really know how long it took me. It's also drawn on the wrong side of the paper. Gah.

  • 4B Derwent Sketching pencil
  • 8B Mars Lumograph pencil
  • Eye shadow applicators
  • Kneadable eraser
  • A4 paper

And a bit of trivia - the diamond earrings and necklace she's wearing were stolen! Hope you like anyway!
