Art 3 Portfolio, Page 10 - Chemistry Class
Art 3 Portfolio, Page 10 - Chemistry Class by @albemcda (Albert McDaniel)

I spent most of my time in AP Chemistry doodling in my sketchbook, and everyone knew it, so as a "good luck on the AP test" present, I offered to draw a picture of everyone in the class as the animal of their choice! Most everyone loved it, our teacher even hung it in the classroom. The note on the board is a sort of inside joke: Sodium (Na) + Water (H2O) is one of the most reactive mixtures there is. It's supposed to create a violent explosion if even a small amount of each touches. In OUR class, however, the teacher dumped increasingly large chunks of sodium into a container of water, as much as a cubic centimeter, and nothing happened, ever! She tried the entire semester, even ordered new sodium and tried distilled water, but no reaction! Supposedly, the reaction would work just fine for the other classes, just not ours. Anyway, my tribute to the brave and enduring AP Chemistry Class of '98.
