Farewell, my Death by @ryuuko (Ryuuko ]8=B])

Farewell, my Death

Sitting by myself at night and Wishing for the past For that which did not last Such a close bond that seemed so bright but It disappeared too fast Just as soon as it was cast

I had to get away somehow to Find my friend again And times just like back then There was something smelled so foul but It's somewhere he has been Although it burns within

I felt the fire churning down and Then knew it was the end There was no way to fend I lay there still and with a frown I Wished for all to mend But there's nothing left to tend

All was dark except right there and He reached with fingers fanned In the emptiness that spanned He spoke to me though I couldn't bear, said "Just come and take my hand We'll go to a better land"

He pulled and tugged until it hurt but Then it felt so nice A burn soothed by ice We were finally free of all the dirt even Though there was a price For this it will suffice

This is some English project or another. Write a poem with a theme and a visual aid. And I can't come up with the theme ><
