Within the last few pages of the Sketch Pad story, the true antagonist shows his face. Damien Reiko, a Reiko Kyubi powered by pure evil energy, had been controlling Russell Parallax all along! To think he would do that to his own (adopted) son.

Once he had composed a plan to gain hold of the legendary Myth Sword, he left Russell's body in order to find the incredible weapon. Miss Tenko failed to guard the sword from her evil brother. As a result, the Myth Sword's power was engulfed with dark energy, and Damien attained true power.
