Ophelia's Rosemary
Ophelia's Rosemary by @guardian_of_moon (DeDe Sakura)

This is my 2 of 3 drawings for Shakespeare's play, Hamlet. This is Ophelia, holding rosemary in her hands. I kinda gave her an anime twist.

Ophelia was Hamlet's love, but he turned her away brutally and left for England. He was either still upset about his uncle killing his father and then marry'n his mother quickly afterward, OR Ophelia's father told her to ignore and return all favors of Hamlet's back to him... Eh. Either way while he's gone she goes mad, and eventually drowns herself (though we dunno if it was on purpose or accident).

So... why Rosemary? Well in one of her speeches (while she's insane) she hands her brother imaginary plants and flowers. She "hands" him Rosemary, telling him it's for remembrance. I thought it'd be great if we remembered her, because after her death Hamlet returns and during her funeral he confesses that he really DID love her! So, another tragic end.
