Critters 35: Aspedochelone Adult by @VioletWhirlwind (Violet Whirlwind)
Old stuff first. Getting into better critters now.
Part 4 of 4.
Aspedochelone Adult. The young trees have become a forest, and the shell has grown taller. The top of the shell has reached an elevation where the trees no longer grow and, togeather with the twin shell-bump-peaks is capped with snow. Between the snow and the trees is bare, and the actual shell texture can be seen.
I based this creature off of a combination of a sea turtle and an alligator snapping turtle. Note the tail and tongue (complete with the false-worm formation) are like the snapping turtle, while the flippers are similar to the sea turtle.
I used pretty much the entire page on this one, and consequently, it got a tiny bit squished in order to fit in completely. But what can I say< the creature itself is flippin' HUGE.
