Alien Dawn - SPOILER!!! Late in the second chronicle, where Kathra, Kiril, and Ian Mazarin are stranded on a barren world being hunted by three tanu warriors and the psychotic tanurai emissary Daera, the tanurai scouting party's single spore, damaged from fighting Kathra, latches onto her and begins transforming her into a tanurai magi to produce more spores and lead the invasion of other nearby planets.
