Challened by the great phoenix, the black stallion puts forth his best effort in his race against the bird.

Okay. Finished. The scanner picked up more pencil strokes than it should have, so it looks a little weird, but I still like it. I used one of my birds to model the wings of the bird for (I might as well put them to use!), but other than that no reference was used. There are two small horses in the bottom right corner, watching their leader's progress. Done with pastels and charcoal, plus lots of erasing.
