the marmaid rests rather comfortably on the craggy rocks above the tide pool her infant splashes in, the proud merman father puts his hand on the side of the female hippocampus. the couple are introducing their one month old son to the 3 day old hippocampus colt, born from the mermaids mare and the mermans stallion. this will become a life-long bond; as most baby mermaids are introduced to their equine companion at a very early age. the mother of both babies is very proud and the hippocampus mare keeps close watch on her confused colt. the fact the hippocampus colt was born not much later than the merbaby means they do not need to find a new one, this makes the mermaid very happy, the fact that the baby will be raised with the offspring of their own hippocampus is a honor as the family bond between these 2 species of the sea will be held for yet another generation.
