GUARDIAN AT THE GATE [January 30,2015] by @Fireseeker_Arts (Fireseeker Arts)

Today I start this account with a bit of history. This is the very first image I had done mixing traditional art and digital. While I have done digital art before, I found a much easier time combining both traditional and digital elements with my work. Originally, I would outline sketches in marker, scanning them, then color them on paint.net. I decided to experiment on this one, taking a pen sketch I made then made the effects on PS. It produced a really nice texture and had an element of humanity with my work, rather looking smooth and artificial compared to my older digital works. I think I learned at that moment that I progress my art by the act of experimenting. Sometimes you would try something new to see how it would look and see if it sticks. If it wasn't for that then my art would be very different from what it is now.

As for the subject itself, it is a very old design of my main muse: Fireseeker. She is a character I held onto for years (even before this piece) and I hope to one day share the story I am creating for her. You will probably see a whole lot of art of her, how she evolves and the characters that surround her story. Who knows, maybe there might be pieces I will post on here that I will redraw one day. Guess we will see how things go.

Character and art belong to me
