The story behind this is simple, if you can't tell by the comic.

This comic was based on a real event in '91. A man I know told me the story of what happened to him one day while working inside the radar machine. The guy he's chasing with the sledge hammer didn't know he was inside the radar and started turning it on from the outside. The next thing he knew his shoes were starting to melt and his belt buckle began to burn on his skin. After that, he chased the guy with the sledge hammer outside the building.
