The Excalibur
The Excalibur by @aleilam (Aleister Lam)

The famous sword that had led King Arthur through to various victories in his life-time, and probably the sword itself would have spawned several stories. There were 2 noteable swords that was used by King Arthur in his lifetime.

The first Excalibur was a prototype whose sole purpose was to seek out the rightful King; thus the sword in the stone. This sword was probably set into an anvil that was place on top of a stone magically by the wizard, Merlin, which Arthur then a youth managed to drew out with the help of Merlin. This Excalibur prototype was shattered when Arthur was engagae in a battle with a knight known as Pellinore, who incidentally was known to persue the bizarre Questing Beast. Merlin therefore obtained another sword which is the Excalibur that King Arthur had carried till his death. This Excalibur was handed to Merlin from the Lady of the Lake and its said that Merlin told Arthur that the scabbard of Excalibur is more precious than the sword as he who have the scabbard will not lose any blood even if badly wounded in combat.

This is one of the few pics that I try to use Photoshop to coloured and I think I've failed miserably. Oh,well, decided to put this picture up anyway! Artwork © Copyright 2002 Aleister Lam
