tube wars preliminary character sketch
tube wars preliminary character sketch by @alienfirst (Amanda Lien)

For those of you that don't read my LiveJournal, this picture will make even less sense than it does to those that do. To explain this picture, I'm just going to copy and paste what I wrote in my LJ. Beware, there is a bunch of meaningless words that precede the actual telling of Tube Wars, so just bear with me.

I just had the best morning I have ever had in a long time. On Wednesday's the middle and high schools in my school district go to school a couple hours later than usual. Figuring that that day was today, Anna and I met Michelle, Lauren, and Lorn over at Starbucks for mindless chatter and card games. After we all get coffee, Anna starts dealing out some cards for "the name game". For this game, you pick a topic (say, video game characters), and everyone assigns them self as a character (I was Luigi, Anna was Dr. Mario, and so on), the dealer then hands out one card to each person and whenever two cards match in suit, the two people who have those two cards have to say as quick as they can, the other person. So, if Anna and I both had spades, I'd have to yell "Dr. Mario!" before she yelled "Luigi!". Whoever yells the name first gives their card to the slower person. The game ends when all the cards in the stack are gone, and the loser is whoever has the most cards. Anyway, we all played that for a couple rounds (Lorn losing the majority of the time, but she took it rather well) while trying not to swear or yell "WHO THE HELL ARE YOU?!" (as we forgot what the other people were half the time). At around nine, Michelle and I drove Lorn and Anna to school with us (Lauren went to BCC). When we got to school, Anna sat down and started doing some homework she had forgotten and Lorn stole her spiral notebook and started drawing in it. Being bored, I joined Lorn and drew a chibi someone holding the Tube of Civilization. Lorn said it looked like the person was fighting someone, so I drew another person with another tube that looked like Darth Vader (if his helmet looked like a pig's face), and then I wrote "Tube Wars" underneath it. Now I have a new (albeit completely spoof-created story).

No, it's not completely based off Star Wars. After all, I've only seen Episode 1, and then two of the old trilogy (and I don't really like Star Wars). In Tube Wars, we have two planets, Deeds and Monks (both names randomly selected by Anna from class project posters hanging around the school). Planet Monks has a moon named Idaho, and Planet Deeds has a moon named Udaho (think about it and say the two names out loud... there ya go). On these two planets live the "aliems". Deeds is ruled by Lorn, and Monks is ruled by Anna. Senor (add the tilde) Chingada is ruler of the universe (he is a fish, and yes, in Spanish, "chingada" is a bad word, I apologize to all Spanish speaking people). Monks and Deeds each have one wise man, a "Yoda" if you will. Deeds has Dittoda (a ditto), and Monks has Duckoda (a rubber duckie). Amanda, the heroine, is from Monks and has the Tube of Civilization. Michelle, the evil person (no, she doesn't have a helmet, that was drawn before I made her the evil one), is from Deeds and has the Tube of Chaos (which just happens to be pink and sparkly. Lauren is ruler of the Upperworld (AKA heaven), and is simply called Lauren. Maria (or as some of you know her, Ayame) is ruler of the Underworld (AKA Hell. which as I think about it now, really doesn't fit with her, but oh well), and is called... NOVA. There is no plot or anything, Michelle, Lorn, Anna, and I just had some fun making up our own little world (again). Just remember, Penny Arcade is the true creator of the Tube of Civilization.

Thus, this is my character in Tube Wars. The heroine. Or some random character that gets to hold the Tube. Whatever. The only thing I really wanted for my character design was to have the hair tied back in a ribbon (a la Urd in Queen Sayoko). So, yeah. Penny Arcade gives me much inspiration.
