Paths of the Niyotael
Paths of the Niyotael by @Jocarra (Jen Philpot)

Ash walks an ancient path of the Niyotael people, not realising she is the walking the path of her ancestors. The path overlooks a grand temple of Raziel, a statue of the Divine Lord towering high above the jungle once ruled by the Niyotael. However, now only the saurian Certans inhabit the crumbling ruins of the Razielian people.

Originally an anatomical and conceptual study for Ash, the piece now is an attempt to also portray the vast beauty and mystical quality of the Niyotael homeland. I've always been awful at backgrounds, but I was inspired by my favourite spot on campus to take a shot at drawing such a background by hand. A reference photo of Kilimanjaro was used - others were pictures I took on campus.

Graphite, kneadable eraser. 30 hours.
