This was a fun one. = )
First off, let's get the basics out of the way (and direct you fine folks as to where you, too, could find this neat base):
Labko was created by Brookes Eggleston.
If you'd to find out more about Labko, download a printable blank sheet, a PSD or even the Blender file or a printable STL; check out the Labko project page at https://brookeseggleston.com/labko
If you want to learn some techniques to help boost your art & storytelling skills, check out Character Design Forge at http://www.LearnCharacterDesign.com
Now for the Rest of the Story...
So, Brookes dropped a new video over on Character Design Forge about Base Characters (Which you can watch Here ). At the end, he showed off his own little art toy style creation called 'Labko' and the project around it.
Being the artist that I am, I said I Might take a crack at it later after I got my work done... and promptly came up with the idea you see here. = P
Don't ask me why I'm on a fish kick lately but I am and I'm just rolling with it.
This started with the goal of being something I could theoretically make. It ended with a fun little guy from the deep in a pressurized suit so they can spend time on the surface. I don't think this is doable at my current skill level but I'll have to give it a shot at some point. = )
