(Sorry, incoming ramble) I liked DA because it was seen as "THE art site," and I made a few decent friends on there, but sadly, AI made the site turn to slop, plus there were a LOT of creeps, especially minors who made/said a lot of things they shouldn't (which was a result of being given access to the Internet at far too young of an age. There was a TEN YEAR OLD drawing things I don't even want to repeat in text). I'm glad I found this site because literally everyone I've come across so far is incredibly nice and also very mature, unlike a lot of people I met on DA. I'm glad I found this place (it was via a YT comment on an Izzzyzzz video lol) and I hope it gets much more recognition from actual artists. I did walk away from 100 followers (which is more than I've ever had on any social media site), but it was worth it. It was almost like the transition from high school to college. It's awesome to meet you all and connect via our art!

Ai is patronizing garbage.

Was on DA for... maybe 20 years before I deleted my account because of AI. It was always a little odd as a website, with some serious drama going around. But it was a place I loved and was sad to let go of. I had hundreds of works on there... It's a shame, but it is what it is. I'm glad I found this place again :)

Came to Side7 just in case DA collapses even more. Used to be better in 2018 when I discovered it (as a viewer)

I use Deviantart for 15 years where I remember better times in deviantart

as I become better person, Deviantart ironically goes downhill simultaneously

I may be one of the newer members of dA, only using it for 7 years, but even I know better times when I see them. Screw Eclipse, and especially screw Wix.

I was influenced by DeviantArt because of 12 year old me looking at Kaa the Python pictures (the 1960s Disney version with the snuggly coils) that I looked at on Google images back in 2012. The Disney Jungle Book movie is the reason why I like jungles and constrictor snakes so much for the past 12 years. Besides that, I had my first DA account back in 2017. But, I deactivated it in 2022 because of my petty behavior and getting dragged into someone's drama. DeviantArt is not as good I expected. I feel disappointed...

I don't know how old or new Side7 is, but I'm glad I hopped on, this place is cozy

In response to what Makeshift said, it's not just attention that trolls want. It initially started with messing with people, but it escalates to straight-up bullying in most cases. I've been told not to feed the trolls whenever I was being bothered by them, but in most cases, ignoring them somehow warranted them deciding that, since I wouldn't give them the reactions they wanted, they'll just spread lies and gossip about me to ruin my reputation; even tarnishing potential friendships which typically ended in me being blocked, or getting the silent treatment, or worse, they would dox me. From what I've heard from some of the OG members (and by OG, I mean they've been members since the site launched in 2000,) DeviantArt was apparently always a toxic hellhole, so there's really no winning here. Not that it matters anymore, I feel a lot safer here.

I heard DeviantArt used to be good.. I'm gonna rant a lot about it right now. I'm a 13-year-old, joined dA when I was 12,a year ago, and didn't tell anyone my age, but still said i was a minor. through those few months I was subjected to popular people immaturely getting infuriated at trollers (thats exactly what the trolls want!! they want you and your friends' attention!!) there was also drama going on with this one popular girl ;-; and not to mention the gross improperly-rated NSFW & fetish arts. someone with inappropriate content even DM'd me and it made me uncomfortable. i eventually couldnt handle the guilt of lying about my age and left safe to say I'm much more comfortable with my experience on Side 7 :)

This site is giving me old school dA vibes. I miss the old layout to DeviantArt.

Hi everyone!!! All I want to say now is that this site is wonderful! One million percent better than the disaster called Eclipse (the so-called ''modern DeviantArt''). Real DA was between 2000-2020. SIde7 seems to be promising :D

I stick with this platform as I wait for Artspacious to open it's doors for us

I killed my Facebook for a couple reasons. First of all, I didn't want to deal with all of the trolls fasely accusing me of p**ophilia, as well as gaslighting me by making me feel like I was using autism as an excuse, which is something I would never do because I know better. Second, it damaged my mental health, which is why I think Facebook is worse then DeviantArt to me.

DeviantART was the closest thing I had to an online home too. I decided to join here because DeviantART made some really dumb decisions, and I know for a fact DeviantART is gonna be gone within the next 5 years

dA was the closest thing I had to an online home since middle school, Eclipse and DreamUp were the final straws.

I mostly quietly post to DeviantArt and replying to comments from fans. I’m still staying away from the forums though, since some people want to waste time being cynical on there.

I could not stand DA because of the political drama and immature losers starting drama, being mean on purpose, and causing problems for no reason. I'm grateful this group exists on Side7. Though, I'll admit, I made a meme yesterday and it was content advisory, so, I deleted it because I felt bad for not understanding what trollbaiting is.

I'm a DeviantArt refugee. I used to like DeviantArt, but nowadays, I can't stand it anymore. However, Facebook to me is worse. I'm so glad I gave those sites up because there's so many obnoxious people on there.
