Rafael Larazzo (Rafe, to his closer aquaintences) is a multimillionaire ex-playboy living on the East Coast. He finds his life interesting, but needlessly complicated.

As an adult, he discovered (much to his confusion) that he is a werewolf, involuntarily changing on the night of the full moon and on Halloween. This has come in handy on multiple occasions, but he views it as more of a nuisance than anything else.

He is recently married to Ms. E. Jane Tullen. His best friend is a nature-spirit called (among other things) Maui who currently resides in a tree in the spacious Larazzo back yard.
