Thin with seemingly perpetually mussed hair and wild eyes, the amateur inventor Simon Fennel exists in the universe showcased in the Disney movie "The Great Mouse Detective." He fancies himself an evil genius with no equal in the world, but of course there's Basil of Baker Street, as well as Fennel's one-time employer, the sinister criminal mastermind Professor Ratigan. A mercenary of sorts, Fennel uses his skills as an inventor to serve a wide variety of figureheads in London's criminal underworld. Naturally, part of this job involves stealing the components needed for his creations wherever he can get them.
